Welcome, to our first ever middle school running camp--we are excited to have you join us! This day-only camp will be July 12-16 and is open to all genders. Campers must be in middle school as of September 2021. Staff and camper safety is paramount at all times. To take advantage of our world-class trail system, camp will be based at a various locations throughout the week.

Tentative Schedule for the Week*: Monday through Thursday, camp will begin at 9:00am and end at 3pm. Friday, camp will begin at 4:30pm and end at 10:30pm. Locations will be confirmed as camp nears. To help ease the burden of transportation, and for those comfortable, we will connect families interested in carpooling to each camp location throughout the week. *Camp schedule subject to shift based on factors beyond our control.

COVID-19 Statement and Mitigation Plan Please visit our website to read our plan for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 during our camps this summer. We view the health and safety of our camp as a mutual effort agreed to by all campers and staff. Please consider your and your family's commitment to coming to camp healthy and abiding by our protocol. All campers and families will be notified of any changes to our plan as we continue to follow public health mandates along with federal, state and local health guidance.

Registration Fee: Sliding scale. (See information below.)

Traveling from outside of Juneau? We love having our Alaska neighbors join us and we try our best to support campers attending from outside of Juneau. However, for our middle school camp we are unable to provide housing for out of town attendees.

Refunds (minus processing fees) will be considered on or before June 1st. Cancellations after that will only be considered for a refund if a replacement camper is found.

Questions about registration, contact: Tristan Knutson-Lombardo, [email protected], 907-723-1772.

This is optional but it does make our camp more accessible for those willing to help. Families will be connected and asked to follow mutually agreed upon COVID protocols such as wearing masks.

We are asking campers to bring a lunch to camp each day (we will provide extra snacks for all campers). However, if you need lunch provided please check this box and we'll make sure you have one!

IN CONSIDERATION OF my child/ward, being allowed to participate in any way in Lynn Canal Adventures’ related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

The risk of injury to my child from the activities involved in these programs is significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,

1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,

2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,

3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Lynn Canal Adventures, its directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

4. I, for myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS all the above Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

UNDERSTANDING OF RISK I understand the seriousness of the risks involved in participating in this program, my personal responsibilities for adhering to rules and regulation, and accept them as a participant.

Our Policy on Registration Equity: We are only able to do what we do with the generosity of grant funding and donations in addition to your camp fees. We strive to make camp accessible to everyone regardless of ability to pay. With that in mind, we offer families the option to contribute what is comfortable--no questions asked. The total cost for our middle school running camp is more than $380 per camper. We work hard to make camp both top-notch and affordable to all. To that end, we ask campers registering to think about the value of a week spent adventuring in the woods and on top of mountains, and match that with a meaningful contribution for the opportunity to join in a life-changing week. Our sliding scale registration includes a shirt and other "swag", snacks (and lunch for those needing one), coordinated transportation for those interested, daily adventures, and a LOT of laughing!
