Welcome to our inaugural adult running camp! Before you register, please read the following information to make sure this camp works for you, your schedule, and your goals....

Who is camp for? Training for a race? Seeking adventure and friends? Starting your next running journey? All of these, and so many others, are reasons to join us for a long weekend on the trails and around camp where your wellness (and tiredness!) will be taken to the next level. Our first-ever running camp for adults will be guided by the same counselors inspiring our youth camps, yet designed for adults of all abilities who love to run. Whether you run 5 or 15 minute miles, this camp isn’t about how fast you run, but rather a dedication to self-improvement alongside others doing the same.

Camp is based out at the Eagle River United Methodist Camp (milepost 27 north of Juneau) and has all the comforts of home: electricity, running well water, hot showers (unless you get pranked), and an industrial kitchen stocked with everything except that one thing you can’t ever seem to find when you need it.…This no-cell-service haven is where we sleep, eat, relax, and play.

Registration Fee: $600 + a suggested donation to help keep our youth camps affordable.

When does camp start/end? Camp begins at 1pm on Thursday, July 13th and ends at 4pm on Sunday, July 16th.

Refunds (minus processing fees) will be considered on or before May 15th. Cancellations after that will only be considered for a refund if a replacement camper is found.

Lynn Canal Running Camps are conducted by Lynn Canal Adventures, a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Juneau, Alaska. We have been operating running camps since 2010 with a simple mission: to build courage and community through running.

Is this the right camp for me?

Runners who get the most out of our camps are just that--runners. We proudly cater to a wide spectrum of abilities, from joggers to mountain-ridge-adventurers, it's what makes our camp so unique--and we love that! Campers should come with a summer of running under their belt and a desire to improve as a runner while supporting others doing the same. Please take a moment to answer a few questions to see if a long weekend spent with Lynn Canal Adventures is the right fit for you:

Registration

I recognize that I must be in good physical and mental health to participate in the activities of this camp. I understand that the Activities require physical exertion, and I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and I have no medical condition which would prevent my full participation in the Activities. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to and regarding my participation in the Activities. If I have consulted a physician, I have taken the physician’s advice. I understand that Lynn Canal Adventures reserves the right in its absolute discretion to refuse my participation in camp activities based on medical, fitness or other grounds.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in Lynn Canal Adventures’ programs, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,

2) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,

3) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,

4) I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Lynn Canal Adventures, their directors, officers, officials, agents, volunteers and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

MEDIA WAIVER I hereby authorize and give my full consent to Lynn Canal Adventures to copyright and/or publish any and all photographs, videotapes and/or film in which my child/ward appear while attending Lynn Canal Adventure programs. I further agree that Lynn Canal Adventures may transfer, use or cause to be used, these photographs, videotapes, or films for any exhibitions, public displays, publications, commercials, art and advertising purposes, and television programs without limitations or reservations.

Your support makes our youth camps and programs affordable to all. For our middle and high school camps, our sliding registration free allows families the option to contribute what is comfortable for them--no questions asked. We then work with supporters like you to raise the rest. By making a donation in addition to your registration fee, our youth camps and programs remain accessible to all youth regardless of ability to pay. 

To that end, we ask you to consider the value of seven days spent adventuring on top of mountains, meeting peers from across Alaska and the Lower 48, and overcoming challenges both big and small, and match that with a meaningful contribution so aspiring young runners of all financial backgrounds can join in on a life-changing week.
