Welcome to the Lynn Canal Middle School Running Camp, we are excited to have you join us! We now have two day camps, June 26-30 and July 24-28, open to all genders. Campers must be in middle school as of September 2023. Staff and camper safety is paramount at all times. To take advantage of our world-class trail system, camp will be based at a various locations throughout the week.

We are a running camp. While the majority of our time together is spent not running, campers can expect to run between 15 and 30 miles spread out over five days. Everyone brings a range of abilities and experiences--it's what makes our camp so unique, and we love that! Our expectation is that each camper bring a willingness to try new things while supporting others doing the same. All abilities are welcome. Come with a desire to improve as a runner, make new friends, and have fun!

Tentative Schedule for the Week*: Monday through Thursday, camp will begin at 9:00am and end at 4:30pm. Friday, camp will begin at 4:00pm and end at 11:00pm. Locations will be confirmed as camp nears. *Camp schedule/locations subject to change based on weather and other factors beyond our control.

Transportation To help ease the burden of transportation, we will connect interested families for carpooling to camp each day. We will also provide a limited number of camp-supported transportation from two pickup/drop off hubs: JDHS Yadaa.at Kalé (for days we meet in valley) and TMHS (for days we meet downtown/Douglas).

Registration Fee: Sliding scale. (See information below.)

Refunds (minus processing fees) will be considered on or before May 15. Cancellations after that will only be considered for a refund if a replacement camper is found.

Questions about registration, contact: Tristan Knutson-Lombardo, [email protected], 907-723-1772.

Lynn Canal Running Camps are conducted by Lynn Canal Adventures, a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Juneau, Alaska. We have been operating running camps since 2010 with a simple mission: to inspire courage and community through running.

Select one session per camper

This is optional but it does make our camp more accessible for those willing to help. Families will be connected and asked to follow mutually agreed upon COVID protocols such as wearing masks.

We are asking campers to bring a lunch to camp each day (we will provide extra snacks for all campers). However, if you need lunch provided please check this box and we'll make sure you have one!

Our Policy on Registration Equity: We are only able to do what we do with the generosity of grant funding and donations in addition to your camp fees. We strive to make camp accessible to everyone regardless of ability to pay. With that in mind, we offer families the option to contribute what is comfortable--no questions asked. The total cost for our middle school running camp is more than $500 per camper. We work hard to make camp both top-notch and affordable to all. To that end, we ask campers registering to think about the value of a week spent adventuring in the woods and on top of mountains, and match that with a meaningful contribution for the opportunity to join in a life-changing week. Our sliding registration fee includes a shirt and other swag, snacks (and lunch for those needing one), coordinated transportation for those interested, daily adventures, and a LOT of laughing!
